In August, we joined the new COST action – CA18231 “Multi3Generation: Multi-task, Multilingual, Multi-modal Language Generation“. MC member for FERI is Matej Rojc,PhD. Automatic conversational language generation is a very important future technology in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), if we want to make possible that machines will communicate with humans by using natural language. Language generation tasks include a large part of natural language processing (NLP) tasks. In order to perform such tasks effectively, we need to be able to apply complex knowledge on machine platforms, which requires multimodal processing and understanding (e.g. textual, visual input, sensor data flows), and the development of more powerful and new machine learning (ML) methods, since virtually all NLP models learn from data. The COST project research activities coincides with the HUMANIPA national project (ARRS). The project undoubtedly represents an important push to work on artificial intelligence in both research and in the pedagogical perspective, as it will also open up opportunities for students to work on interesting projects, as well as graduate and master theses.
