Dr. Izidor Mlakar has as part of a very prominent consortium, brought a new Horizon 2020 project to DSPLAB. The project undoubtedly represents a great next push for work on artificial intelligence in both research and pedagogical terms, and will also open opportunities for students for interesting projects and master’s theses. DSPLAB will be involved in the development of speech technologies in the field of humanoid robots, and as part of this we will also allocate significant funds for pilot development. As part of the project, the IRO (full prof. Šafarič) and the Department of Psychology, FF (assoc. prof. Musil) at University of Maribor will also participate. The IRO will develop a system for optimal movement of robotic units in the hospital environment, and the FF in the field of mood and emotion estimation.
