The basic purpose of the control unit development is to realize the advanced regulation of ventilation and adequate illumination of workplaces in the DSPLab IoT environment. The platform development follows the guidelines of the Internet of Things concept and basically includes a communication assembly, stepper motor drivers, microcontroller and sensor assembly. The communication set provides connectivity to the WiFi network. The measurement of various parameters in the environment can be performed with several sensors such as temperature and humidity sensor, air quality sensor and light sensor. The regulation of ventilation and illumination was performed with the help of stepper motor drivers, which are actuators of the regulation technique. We also used a microcontroller on the platform with a proper peripheral for power and only PC connectivity.
